Thomas Picard
Vice President, Debt & Private Equity
Thomas takes a hands-on approach as a member of AMERRA’s debt and private equity investment teams providing analytical support and working collaboratively with management teams to create value for AMERRA portfolio companies. In addition to analytics, Thomas brings strong credit operational skills when originating, researching and providing governance for AMERRA’s investment portfolio.
After interning with AMERRA in the summer of 2013 and 2014, Thomas joined the AMERRA staff full-time in 2015 as member of the Operations Department. During this time Thomas gained valuable experience in agribusiness investing. Thomas worked directly with AMERRA’s portfolio companies in the coffee, sugar, and grains sectors to document transactions, value collateral assets, and disburse funds. Thomas collaborated with the AMERRA Brazilian and legal teams to develop a comprehensive collateral monitoring program for a tobacco pre-export financing facility that has since been replicated in other deal structures. While at AMERRA, Thomas also enjoyed working with the Seeds for Progress charity program to build schools that help support the Nicaraguan coffee community.
Thomas holds a BS in Economics with a focus in Macroeconomics, Money, and Banking from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
